Lee Brillhart is a Senior Legal Counsel to TeqLaa. Lee focuses his practice on counseling companies in the areas of business formation, debt and equity financing, business and product development, intellectual property strategy, M&A, and growth planning. Lee’s deep experience as both CEO/President and in-house counsel to multiple high-growth companies informs his legal advice, directed at helping each client minimize risks, embrace opportunities, and maximize their potential for success.
Lee is accustomed to and comfortable with the dynamics and stresses of fast growth (e.g., he has led companies that were named to the Inc. 500). In his 25 year as a company executive, counsel, and board member he has experienced both success and failure in his entrepreneurial journey, and he has learned much from both. Lee understands that you don’t really have a business until you have a customer, and he tailors his counsel to help companies get and hold customers and build the team needed to support and drive growth. Sometimes, he’ll say no, you shouldn’t do it that way. But he is creative and confronted a lot of challenges in his career, and will always try to find a way to get to a yes.
Lee has led and worked for companies in the sharing economy (car and photo sharing), and in software, financial technology, healthcare (health spending accounts and nutritional supplements), military defense technology, and has additional experience in government relations (legal fellow in the United States Senate).
Lee lives on Capitol Hill in Seattle and is involved in a variety of civic activities. He loves to see live music, travel, ski, hike, and climb.
